Gators vs Diles

Not sure how we got to this topic of Alligators vs Crocodiles. It started with how MAGA and MAHA can be chanted together, both alluding to greatness. Ah yes! One of us used the term, Political Alliteration to highlight the synchronicity of MAGA and MAHA. But then one wondered if political honchos in the US (and India) knew what Alliteration meant. Surely nothing to do with Alligators!

One thing led to another, and we came to compare Alligators of the Western World and Crocodiles of the Orient. It struck us that indeed, France’s Lacoste (1927-) and the Singapore-based Crocodile brand (1947-) of clothing both feature the amphibious creature on their shirts. A closer look shows Crocodile’s croc looks west, while Lacoste’s croc looks east. Apparently, just making the croc look the other way wasn’t enough to tell the difference between the two brands. Especially, since both the crocodiles looked equally well-fed, fat and happy. It may well have been the same fellow who modelled for both. A good read about the case here.

Only if one of them had used an Alligator instead. If the judge had a nose for it, he could have told the difference 😉
